- Anna, one of our customers, made it in the news with her daughter and our Miao friendship balls. What fun!

Text of the article from the Bastrop Advertiser:
"Above, the Pre-K class at Calvary Episcopal School in Bastrop holds up traditional Chinese Miao balls. The balls, which represent friendship, were a gift from Keira Cooper, front row in pink, in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The Miao are the fifth largest ethnic minority in China and excel at many handcrafts, including batik, embroidery and silversmithing. Traditionally, the young married Miao girls would make these friendship or courting balls. During a festival, the girls would stand on one side with eligible young men on the other. The girls toss the balls to the crowd of men. Young men who catch a ball spend the rest of the day with the ball's maker, a young woman. "
"...Miao friendship balls come in many colors. Ethnic minority women make these special handcrafted balls in Guangxi Autonomous Region. The balls are 2" in diameter and come in assorted colors. All are hand-stitched and hand-embroidered. While you may be able to find them in China, they are extremely difficult to find elsewhere." - "We just received our order today. We LOVE IT!!!!
Our girls 11 and 4, love the book. As a parent of a Chinese daughter, I feel we could use all the guidance
we can get, and your kits make it so easy. The concise, easy to use
kits take all the stress out of researching, copying, and googling many
sites to find just one or two activites. You offer numerous ones in one
place that gets shipped to our door! Please keep up the great work, good luck with your business. I hope it continues to grow as we will all benefit from your kits! My bio 11 year old was just as interested as my 4 year old from China! You've succeeded!"
